SBINFT supports Japan’s first NFT-enhanced entertainment tour by Lawson Ticket and Lawson Travel
SBINFT has agreed to provide NFT services using the Company’s marketing platform “SBINFT Mits” in cooperation with Lawson Ticket, operated by Lawson Entertainment. Through this agreement, SBINFT will support the sales of Japan’s first entertainment tour utilizing NFTs, conducted by Lawson Ticket and Lawson Travel, leveraging SBINFT’s services and expertise in planning.
“SBINFT Mits” is a marketing platform that visualizes fans through NFTs and enables one-stop fan cultivation and acquisition. It allows companies to form communities while directly interacting with fans using features such as bulk NFT distribution and surveys. This enables businesses to implement NFT-based marketing even without Web3 knowledge.
At the end of August, a new “ticket-tearing function” was added based on user needs, allowing NFTs distributed on “SBINFT Mits” to be used as tickets or coupons.
Lawson Ticket has been issuing commemorative NFTs to ticket purchasers since December 2022 using SBINFT’s technology to provide new digital experiences to users. In collaboration with Lawson Travel, which plans and sells entertainment tours, and METACULTURES (MCS), which operates a blockchain business targeting musical IP in Korea, Lawson Ticket was considering further NFT utilization to enhance customer satisfaction when selling Korean entertainment tours.
SBINFT proposed the following two plans to Lawson Ticket and MCS:
- Proof of Concept Plan: A proof of concept to distribute NFTs to Product purchasers in Japan before the tour starts using “SBINFT Mits,” and to use these NFTs as tickets by “tearing” them for entertainment viewing in Korea.
- NFT Discount and Gift Plan: A plan where NFT holders (distributed separately to Product purchasers after returning from the tour) can receive discounts and gifts on-site when visiting MCS-affiliated restaurants and cafes in Seoul from November 22, 2024, to June 22, 2025.
The attempt to use NFTs distributed in Japan as tickets in Korea and the sale of entertainment tours with NFT-based discount and gift benefits are first-of-their-kind initiatives in Japan, aligning with Lawson Ticket’s intention to provide new user experiences by incorporating digital elements into entertainment.
Furthermore, if this proof of concept enables the use of NFTs as tickets or discount coupons overseas, Lawson Ticket will be able to add value to existing products. As a result, both of SBINFT’s proposals were adopted along with “SBINFT Mits.”
