Launch of “& JCB Fintech Program”, with FamilyTech as the first project

JCB is launching the “& JCB Fintech Program (~ Your First Partner. JCB ~)”, a program to support new entrants into the payment business. FamilyTech will start issuing the Family Bank Card around June of this year as the first project utilizing this program.

The “Family Bank Card” is a credit card that can be issued once for each family member, with one shared bank account for settlement. By applying as the representative, the number of cards for the family can be issued as soon as the same day.

Daily expenses such as food, utilities, and children’s allowances can be integrated and efficiently managed on the app. A spending limit can be set for each card, and transactions are reflected in real-time, allowing families to use the card with peace of mind.

This card can be used not only by families related by family register but also by unmarried partners or friends living together.

  • Issuing Brand: JCB
  • Issuing Company: FamilyTech Co., Ltd.
  • Eligible Members: Family Bank users (individuals)
  • Card Name: Family Bank Card
  • Card Type: Credit Card
  • Issuance Format: Virtual Card (physical cards will be provided in the future)
  • Annual Fee: Free for both primary and family members (if there is no usage of 1 yen or more per year by any family member, a fee of 1,375 yen will be charged)
  • Number of Cards Issued: Credit cards for all family members can be issued with one application

Background

In recent years, more companies are looking to enter the payment business, such as issuing cards, as a means to improve the user experience of their services, utilize payment data, and provide added value.

In response to this trend, JCB has launched the “& JCB Fintech Program (~ Your First Partner. JCB ~)” to support such companies.

Through this program, JCB will provide comprehensive support to business partners as well as enable easy and smooth contact through a website.

In addition to the brand licensing business, JCB will share its expertise in issuing and acquiring businesses, and propose and support solutions tailored to each company’s needs for payment services, products, systems, and operations.

JCB will provide the following support to help companies smoothly enter the payment business:

  1. Comprehensive Support
    Utilizing JCB’s unique assets cultivated through the brand licensing business, issuing business, and single acquiring, JCB will provide comprehensive support for introducing payment services and products. Furthermore, JCB will continue to provide marketing and promotion support, such as opportunities to participate in JCB-hosted campaigns after introduction, reducing the burden of campaign development on companies and promoting usage.
  2. Diverse Payment Services and Products
    JCB offers not only credit, debit, and prepaid cards but also various payment services and products such as QUICPay, Smart Code, and ETC cards.
    Companies can introduce payment products that meet their needs, without being limited to card formats.
  3. Efficient Payment Infrastructure Development
    JCB will support the development of payment systems, which are essential for the payment business. In addition to JCB’s own system and operational infrastructure, companies can also utilize platforms of JCB’s partner companies.
